The International Student Organization is proud to endorse Boris and Daniela for the Student Association president and vice president. Joining us in our collective endorsement are the European Student Group, Turkish Student Association, La L.U.C.H.A. and Abi Zambrana.

They are the only candidates who have demonstrated an understanding of the vast diversity on campus and the complex multi-layered problems associated with it. Through their proposed summit, they give student groups such as ours the ability to collaborate and address the issues we receive constant feedback on. More importantly, they propose to engage students, not only student leaders or recognized organizations, who often identify with multiple groups on campus.

We are concerned with proposed solution of a cultural week, as this does not address the underlying issues of diversity. While cross-cultural programming is important, it is only a small part of the solution and one that is visible in many events throughout the year. SA should provide more support in order to collectively advocate against institutionalized problems such as housing selection, scholarship availability, orientation schedules and many more.

We appreciate Boris and Daniela’s continuous support and recognition of our proactive work in addressing many issues including the few named above, and our shared goal of creating a more inclusive and less segregated campus. Finally, we encourage everyone to look out for cultural events throughout this week, also known as International Education Week. There will be events throughout the ESF campus, in Whitman and via the Slutzker Center for International Services.

Remember to vote Boris and Daniela!
