Syracuse rises in rankings after rivalry win

Syracuse (6-3, 1-2 Atlantic Coast) climbed to No. 9 in Monday’s Inside Lacrosse college rankings.
The Orange defeated then-No. 20 Hobart, 17-5, on Tuesday after slipping to No. 11 the previous week following a 13-10 loss at Notre Dame.
All five ACC teams are ranked. No. 4 Virginia leads the way followed by No. 7 Duke, Syracuse, No. 10 Notre Dame and No. 18 North Carolina. Penn State is No. 1 with all 26 first place votes.
Syracuse hosts No. 8 Cornell (7-3, 2-2 Ivy) at 6 p.m. in the Carrier Dome on Tuesday.
